On behalf of the Organizing, Program, Cherry and International Committees, it is our great pleasure to announce the release of our first Call for Papers for the 40th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC-40), to be held June 8 – 13, 2014, in Denver, Colorado, USA.

As you can see from the Call for Papers, we are planning a packed technical program that will continue the PVSC’s tradition as the world’s premier conference on the science and technology of photovoltaics. Our program areas touch on all PV technologies and span the full range of technology maturity from basic materials and device fundamentals to deployed modules and systems.
We are in the process of crafting our technical agenda, and we have already confirmed these plenary and invited speakers:
-Professor Ali Javey from UC Berkeley, USA, speaking on III-V multicrystalline growth for low cost, large area, high efficiency solar cells
-Professor Christoph Brabec from the University of Erlangen, Germany, speaking on organic photovoltaics
-Dr. Albert Polman from the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter, Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF), Netherlands, speaking on plasmonic solar cells
-Dr. Ayodhya Tiwari from EMPA, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, speaking on chalcogenide-based thin-film solar cells
-Dr. Jun Lin from TEL Solar, Switzerland, speaking on silicon thin-film based PV technologies
-Dr. Richard Swanson from Sunpower Corporation, USA, speaking on the status of crystalline Si cells, arrays, and modules
-Dr. Darius Kuciauskas from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA, speaking on recent breakthroughs on photovoltaic measurement and characterization
The abstract submission system will open on or before November 1, 2013. Please mark the submission deadline of February 10, 2014 in your calendar, and start planning your abstract submissions now so that you can become part of the technical program and join these invited speakers and the entire photovoltaics community!!
