Dr. John Collins, chair of the Orange County Section is a 2012 recipient of the IEEE MGA Innovation Award.
This award is given to recognize an individual or a team whose accomplishment/project is judged to be the most innovative and effective in fulfilling one or more of the goals and objectives of IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA). The accomplishments of the candidate(s) should be of “significant performance” and should have made a distinguishing contribution to IEEE. The award consists of a cash prize and a plaque.
Dr. Collins received the Innovation Award: “For outstanding dedication to improving the IEEE member experience through numerous innovative accomplishments, resulting in increased membership and volunteerism, Chapter revitalization, and greater student participation.”
Region 6 congratulates Dr. Collins on this significant recognition.
