IEEE Technologies for Sustainability conference, October 9-11 – Registration Open
The Fourth Annual IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability’s (SusTech 2016) conference will be held October 9th thru October 11th, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, at the Phoenix Airport Marriott, 1101 North 44th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008. SusTech 2016 is IEEE’s premier sustainable technologies conference and was inspired by IEEE’s Core Value, “Advancing Technology for Humanity”. Environmental Sustainability is at the forefront of global issues facing humanity. Advances in technology, policy and social behavior are essential for the pursuit of environmentally sound development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the future. At SusTech 2016 multiple disciplines interact to identify, create and advance technology to benefit humanity. The conference’s focus is research, applied technology, and case studies pertaining to sustainable technologies and their application in the following areas: Internet of things, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy, Water, Electronics, Energy Efficiency, Transportation, and Societal Implications of Technology.

- Navigating the challenges created by constant innovation on the used electronics industry: The need for collaboration and communication between electronics designers and e-waste recyclers and refurbishers, Karin Harris, President, eGreen-IT Solutions, LLC
- Monday Dinner Keynote, Grady Gammage, Jr.
- Closing Panel: “The Next Big Thing, Approaches in Engineering Design, Manufacturing and Sustainable Design”
- ‘Makers & Sustainability’ Workshop on Sunday, October 9, from noon-4:00 pm, available to both SusTech attendees and local attendees.
- Student Poster Contest on Sunday October 9, with $1500 in prizes.
Individuals who are passionate about the environment and sustainability, developing innovative solutions to drive sustainable development, interested in connecting to, learning from and collaborating with engineering, science, technology and community leaders, must attend SusTech.
