Announcing GHTC 2017 Call for Papers

2017 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC) CFP

We are pleased to announce that submissions are now being accepted for the 2017 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference that will be held October 19-22, 2017 in San Jose, CA, USA.

Now in its 7th year, GHTC is the flagship IEEE Conference focusing on innovation, deployment and adaptation of Technology for Humanitarian Goals and Sustainable Development. GHTC invites presenters to showcase innovation and progress in technology and methodology addressing the socio-cultural and socio-economic needs of vulnerable and resource-constrained end-user communities in developing and developed countries, as well as confronting the challenges of both natural and man-made disasters.

Key focus areas that are particularly relevant include (but are not limited to):

Poverty Alleviation
Healthcare
Agriculture & Food Security
Quality Education
Affordable & Clean Energy
Clean Water & Sanitation
Connectivity & Communication
Humanitarian Challenges & Opportunities
Disaster Mitigation, Preparedness, Response & Recovery
Other United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Participation is invited from the public, private, education and research, societal and funding sectors. Researchers and policy makers, practitioners and representatives of end-user communities all have valuable contributions to make. Interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary papers, and proposals for interactive sessions and panels are warmly encouraged; such approaches have proven highly effective in the development and application of technology for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian goals.

Authors and Presenters must demonstrate a clear understanding of the interrelationship of their work with socio-cultural, socio-economic, policy and environmental factors, and clearly state preliminary, final or expected results and impact.
