The IEEE Tucson Section is adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 emergency here, across the United States and anywhere our Section Members may call home. We are adjusting plans and meetings to conform to Local, State and National recommendations or requirements, as well as IEEE and IEEE-USA Directives as of early this past week of March 14, 2020 onward.
Until otherwise officially announced, all meetings of Tucson Section for any purpose, among any number of participants, in or not in collaboration with any other organization, are being conducted only as virtual meetings via Internet and telephone. We hope, as much as you do, that circumstances will allow us to return to some semblance of normalcy in the months ahead. Until then, we hope there is health and means for all our Members and their communities. You will receive official announcements by eNotice via IEEE HQ in New Jersey. Best Regards,
Keith Kumm, Tucson 2020 Section and Life Member Affinity Group Chairs (March 2020)

My name is Angie and I’m the new Vice Chair for IEEE Tucson Section.  We are making a concerted effort to strengthen our local IEEE community and as part of this effort, I wanted to personally share this amazing opportunity with you.
On February 10, IEEE Tucson Section is co-sponsoring the WhatNXT Summit with Dr. Vint Cerf, Google’s Vice President for Research and Chief Internet Evangelist.

Dr. Cerf is widely recognized as a “Father of the Internet” for co-designing the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet. He has been awarded the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Turing Award for his lifetime of work.
