This presentation will compare several transmission line protection schemes, that improve or revolutionize the precision and speed of fault location, using distance and directional elements, line current differential elements, and traveling wave technologies, with better sensitivity, reliability, and selectivity. Attendance will be recorded electronically. Phone-in callers, from any vintage phone, are also welcome with self-identification or be expelled. WebEx attendance is FREE; no WebEx account needed. Join the WebEx early to test & adjust your settings. Networking for everyone begins at 4 PM. Everyone may speak. Presentation will start promptly at 4:30 PM EST. WebEx attendees may speak and ask questions. This will be an interactive meeting, NOT a one-way lecture. Webcam use is your choice. Your e-mail address, as registered, is our only method of communication and will be used for issuing the log-in link & phone dial-in number, PDH & slides when available, and any program changes/cancellation. Certificate for 2 PDH is available only upon advance request. IEEE membership is required for a PDH certificate. You must include your active IEEE membership number. Certificates in pdf format will be issued post-meeting, either within 2 months, or as volunteers can prepare them, to those who (a) requested one in advance and (b) attended the entire meeting. Alternatives to speed-up distribution of PDH certificates are (1)more local volunteer leadership or (2)pay IEEE/Piscataway hdqtrs’ fee of $45 person.
