August 2018 — IEEE Region 6 congratulations the San Diego Chapter of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS). They have been honored as an outstanding chapter. This award recognizes the chapter that provided the greatest overall contribution and service to its members; the local scientific, professional, governmental, and educational communities; and the IEEE CIS. The San Diego Chapter is organized or co-organized 15 different events in 2017, including two student hackathons and popular joint meetings. Over 130 attended their “AI and Deep Learning in the Enterprise” meeting with speaker Dr. Michael Zeller that was co-sponsored with the San Diego Chapters of the IEEE Computer Society, and the Women in Engineering and Young Professionals. Congratulations to Chapter Chair Douglass Evans and all of the IEEE San Diego Section.
