The SusTech 2017 Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 5th Annual IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability which is being held in Phoenix, AZ. on November 12 – 14, 2017. See http://sites.ieee.org/sustech/conference/call-for-papers/

Abstracts are solicited for both oral and poster presentations from industry, government and academia (including students) covering relevant research, technologies, methodologies, tools and case studies. Topics with policy implications are also welcome. Poster presentations this year will be limited to students.

We are pleased to announce that submissions are now being accepted for the 2017 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference that will be held October 19-22, 2017 in San Jose, CA, USA.

Now in its 7th year, GHTC is the flagship IEEE Conference focusing on innovation, deployment and adaptation of Technology for Humanitarian Goals and Sustainable Development. GHTC invites presenters to showcase innovation and progress in technology and methodology addressing the socio-cultural and socio-economic needs of vulnerable and resource-constrained end-user communities in developing and developed countries, as well as confronting the challenges of both natural and man-made disasters.

The 2017 Region 6 Awards Program

The 2017 Region 6 awards program is substantially different from all previous years. In brief, here are the important changes:

  • All Section awards will directly become nominations for Region awards. There are no Area awards.
  • All award nominations and endorsement letters will be submitted online to a Fluidreview award management system. There are no forms any longer. No more emailed or paper nominations.
  • There are many new award categories added.

IEEE Vision and Innovation Challenges (VIC) Summit

IEEE is hosting the 1st Annual IEEE Vision and Innovation Challenges (VIC) Summit in conjunction with the IEEE Honors Ceremony Gala and Dinner on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA, USA.

The IEEE VIC Summit (www.ieee-vics.org) will take place in at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA, USA on 25 May 2017. The one-day event will present a unique opportunity to meet, mingle, and network with peers and some of the top technology “giants” in the world. The VIC Summit will showcase the breadth of engineering by bringing together innovators, visionaries, and leaders of technology in the Silicon Valley area to discuss what is imminent, to explore what is possible, and what will these emerging areas mean for the future.

The day sessions will look to the future of the industry and the impact engineers have on serving the global community and will culminate with the evening’s IEEE Honors Ceremony Gala. The Honors Ceremony will celebrate the technological achievements that have brought us to where we are today.
